2016 Whidbey Adventure Swim News: Date set for 2016

Hey Swimmers---

Start your open-water swim season with the Whidbey Adventure Swim! Be race-ready and in the water with us Saturday, June 11.

Registration is open clubassistant.com , with discounts for early registrants. Online Registration ends June 4th with late and day-of registration available ($10 additional fee)

Race Information

Event: 1.2- and 2.4-mile open water saltwater swims.

Location: Seawall Park, Langley, Whidbey Island, WA.

  • 8:00-9:30 AM Pre-race check-in
  • 9:30-9:45 AM MANDATORY meeting for all swimmers
  • 10:00 AM Estimated start time for both swim groups

Course: 1.2 mile rectangular course beginning and ending at Seawall Park. Both distances follow the sam path with the 2.4 mile swimmers doing two laps. Both events will start in the water and finish on the beach.

Safety: Lifeguards, motor boats, paddleboards, and kayaks are located all along the course perimeter.

Wetsuits are required. Water temperatures will be 55-60 degrees. Requests for wetsuit exceptions must be sent to the race director. Swimmers must wear swim caps provided, and attend pre-race meeting.

Time requirements: 2.4 mile entrants must complete the first lap within 50min; 1.2 mile entrants must complete the first half of the course in 30min.

Entry Fee: $45 (USD) if registered by June 4th. Late or day-of registration will be $55 (USD). An additional $22 (USD) one-event USMS registration fee is required if the registrant has no current swim affiliation (USMS, FINA, Canadian Masters, etc.)

Full membership in USMS allows swimmers' participation in all other USMS open-water races, pool meets, clinics, coaching and magazine subscription for the rest of 2016. For more information, contact PNRregistrar@usms.org

Eligibility: 18 years of age or older on race day; USMS or other national swim registration for current year, or $22 One-Event USMS registration fee.

Rules: Current USMS rules will govern the event. Wetsuits are required. Swimmers must wear swim caps and hand markings given at registration.

Results: Posted at the race 15 minutes after completion of final event, and available at www.whidbeyadventureswim.org and www.swimpna.org the following day.

We have shirts available at registration. Women's sizes run a bit small so you may want to order a size up.
